Made in two hours, Hard Reset explores the existential crises of a game’s AI as the player continually completes the game. Thus, the AI must experience being destroyed and reborn, over and over and over.
Hard Reset was made in two hours by the team of Marcus Holm and Aaron Albert. Bored on the Saturday night of November 7, 2015 after attending the Ohio Game Developers Conference, the two of us decided to create a game in a short-time span. Our goal was for the game to have a theme and foster an emotional experience, and I believe we succeeded. The next day we displayed the game at OGDE, at the Miami University booth.
